I've been out of town away from the internet or I would have posted this sooner.
Make sure you meet us at our regular meeting place and time!! Do NOT go to Kimball Junction looking for us!
Due to the 5th stage of the Tour of Utah Bike Race on Sat. Aug. 11, we'll save "Rob's Trail" for next week. That will help us avoid all the congestion and traffic at Kimball Junction on Sat.
Instead, we'll be hiking on another one of my MOST favorite trails in Big Cottonwood Canyon: Willow Lake!
This is an easy to moderate hike, very beautiful high mountain meadow and lake, filled with wildflowers and wildlife, and attracts few people.
We'll arrive at the lake before 10 am.
You then have 3 options:
1) Continue on a trail to a higher creek and beyond until 11 am when everyone will turn around
2) Stay at the lake, relax, enjoy peace and quiet, watch for moose (this is one of my favorite places to find moose)
3) Turn around and start heading back down the trail to the car, for a shorter hike.
Everyone will be back before 12 noon.
I work hard to make sure there really is something for all hiking abilities!
Visit my website at LiveandThrive.com to learn more about what I offer
Watch a short video to learn more about our Outdoor Adventure Group and how you can enjoy all the benefits we have to offer!
All hiking abilities are welcome, so join us!
From our meeting place at 6200 So Wasatch Blvd, expect approx. 15 minute drive to the trailhead.
During the summer months we spend much of our time doing "high altitude" hiking, which means most of our trails are above 8000 ft. above sea level.
Willow Lake is on the north side of the canyon - across from Solitude Ski Resort.
Trailhead starts near 8000 ft.
