I joined the garden group to be part of a community project, to learn how to garden and thus be more self-sustainable, to be able to do a worthwhile activity with my children and of course to enjoy the harvest. I am having a great time so far and learning all kinds of valuable information. Sheryl is so knowledgeable and organized it has been a pleasure to be part of this group.

Thank you for all you do. I am grateful when I am able to cross paths with people that far exceed what is expected in life. You are truly one of those people.

With a family of 6, this gardening resource has been so beneficial in
allowing our family to still eat nutritiously while living within our
fixed budget. Thank you so so much!!

I just wanted to let you know how much I have been enjoying my harvest. I
just ate some cucumbers and tomatoes with balsamic vinegar and cheese.
I am now going to eat some green beans. Thank you for all you do to
make this happen.

This was a lovely introduction into what I will try to continue to do with this group. I am excited to watch the plants grow in the greenhouse and learn so much more about gardening. It will also be great to see all of the other gardens and get more involved in the process and hard work that go into maintaining such a great community asset.

Hey.....yes...YOU!...come out, get some
sun, breathe the air, and enjoy!
Gardening is great for the mind and soul AND you get lots of good
fruits and veggies to eat that are good for you. The amount of money I
will save on produce is going to be awesome!

I love to garden but don't have much growing area at my place.

I'm a believer too! I just picked up my harvest share, and was able to share the
overage with 6 other families tonight! Can't wait to farm on Monday!
Thanks, Melinda, for introducing me to Sheryl's amazing cause!

We've really enjoyed being non-working members of your community
gardens! The produce has been so fresh and yummy and we've tried many
recipes that we normally wouldn't have because of the variety. It's
also been fun getting to know you! Thanks!

I love my children learning that food comes from plants rather than the supermarket. Also, the garden group is full of lots of fun people.

Ever
since I've joined this garden community I've been eating nothing but
what has been given to me on pick up days. I have a family of 4 (myself
included) and have not had to go to the grocery store for a few weeks
now. We eat organic and mostly raw fruits and veggies, I couldn't dream
of the cost that this would amount to at Whole Foods.
I couldn't have joined
at a better time either. My husband's work
has slowed to a dead crawl and money is tight, to put it lightly. I'll
work in the gardens whenever I have a spare moment, which comes to me once a week so I'm
able to give much more than is asked because I believe in this cause
and who it supports and what it's designed to do for those willing to
participate. You have saved my family's health AND our pocket book.
Thank you Sheryl and members who make this possible.

I am a child and family psychologist currently at home with my 2 girls:
6 & 8 yrs. I haven't had much luck or put much effort into growing
veggies in my backyard but I want to learn.

I enjoy working and playing outside. I've helped Sheryl with many different things for the last couple of years.

I joined Sheryl's garden group in January 2010. Working in a garden in the winter is really a wonderful thing. I met all kinds of people from all walks of life that I would never have met if I didn't join including people who raise their own chickens (and compare notes). I've learned how to start a garden from seeds and so much more. The fresh produce is amazing.
