The address of this garden is: 2661 E Evergreen Ave (3400 So.) BUT I need you to park on 2700 E. , just NORTH of Evergreen Ave. (3400 So.). Her house is on the corner of 2700 E. and Evergreen and it faces Evergreen but you are going to park on 2700 E. on the EAST side of the street, then walk across the street to the west side, step over the ditch area and go into the garden area from there - NOT the front of her home or her driveway on Evergreen Ave. We need to honor her request.
This is a large garden that needs to be weeded and get ready to plant our fall garden so we'll be eating super yummy spinach this fall and winter.
There are currently 5 squash plants growing and that's it. The rest are weeds that we need to pull tonight.
You'll see a simple drip line irrigation system that I installed (including white PVC pipe) and some furrows that run east to west.
We have at least 3 people coming tonight to anyone else who can help us for even a little while, it will be a lot of fun!
RSVP to me via email, phone message or text. 801-278-5313

For those who are picking up harvest in Taylorsville on Sat. 6 pm, If you could, come a little early, go over to the FAR EAST side of the garden. Look for a bunch of baby tomatoes (these are a little bigger than cherry tomatoes but not much.) They are ripening daily and need to be picked. Once you pick them, take them to Rachel or Carmen at 6 pm, who delivers the harvest to you. Distribute these little tomatoes among the harvest shares of those picking up food.
SMALL TOMATOES: We are going to try and pick the small tomatoes before the harvest distribution every
week while they are producing. Let me know if you can help us with ONLY the Far East area of the garden, on any harvest day, which is every Tues., Thurs., and
Sat. evening.
Even though many of these crops look like they are ready to pick, don't pick them. We have a really good harvesting system down in the Taylorsville Garden and it's working well. We are watching this garden lately, like a hawk. There is an art to knowing WHEN to pick a melon. I'll write about it soon on the blog.
Lori is overseeing the harvest 3 times a week and I am going over there as well to access everything.
We would love your help every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday morning, when Lori is there and she will definitely appreciate the help!
