About the Raspberries in this garden:
I spoke too soon. I forgot that these raspberries are not for our group. There aren't very many and the homeowners would like to pick them. If there are extra, I'll let you know. Otherwise, don't eat them.
In the FRONT
the weeds in the furrows (between the black plastic) are having a serious party! Come any time and work on even one furrow at a time to make it weed-free. It would be a huge blessing.
We have at least 80 tomato plants growing in this front garden along with cucumbers, egg plants, squash, etc. Do whatever you can to protect the crops from the weeds.
In the BACK Garden:
More weeding needs to be done then we'll plant more corn. In the Salt Lake valley, you can plant corn up to 24th of July, which is what we plan to do but we'll need to get it in soon.
The irrigation water runs down these furrows, which is the main reason why we need to control the furrows.
Avoid working in this garden on Sunday and Monday, since Bob, the neighbor irrigates on Sunday all day and it stays muddy for a day or two.
Beginning now, July 14,
EVERY Tuesday, 5:30 - 7:30 pm, through Sept 30,
we'll be there as a group working on weeding, planting or harvesting something. Dan is the supervisor for both West Jordan A & C Gardens. Get to know him. He is very knowledgeable about gardens, is a hard worker and is great to work with!
