GROUND TRANSPORTATION

Once we know who is going there is generally plenty of opportunities to carpool with someone.  Let me know if you choose to drive or would prefer to catch a ride with someone.

ACTIVITY LEVEL is rated: EASY to MODERATE

Moderate IF you plan to participate and go the distance in all that we offer.

Easier options are always available.

What does MODERATE Level mean:
Those who participate in at least 80% of the planned activities will be walking/hiking a minimum of 5 miles/day.

Hikers may stop, rest occasionally and take photos of course.

Those who plan to hike a lot should be comfortable with 4 - 10 miles/day, hiking 4 - 6 hours a day, with a minimum of 1000 ft accumulative elevation gain, hiking approx. 2 - 3 miles/hour depending on the elevation gain or loss. They should come prepared with good hiking shoes.

A light back pack will be sufficient for each day.  Bring and drink 1 liter of water per hour of hiking.

FOR EASIER OPTIONS:

If you are unable to hike/walk a lot or want to take it easy, you may choose to stay closer to Teasdale and Torrey. This is still a small town but it's very beautiful and relaxing.

If you have any questions about your physical abilities, please contact me in advance.

WEATHER CONDITIONS:
Get an idea of general weather conditions on your own during this time of year, however, 1 week before departure we'll watch weather conditions very closely.

Safety is always our number one priority regarding outdoor activities.

We have activity options in mind for inclement weather.

We are subject to itinerary changes due to circumstances beyond our control.

COMMUNICATION on the trip:
Walkie Talkies and cell phones.

A brief meeting is generally held each evening to discuss plans for the following day.

PRE-TRIP MEETING:
Watch for opportunities to attend a pre-trip meeting at my home in Salt Lake City, designed for those who are able to meet with us in person. Since many are not able to physically attend this meeting, final details are sent via email to all participants. Contact me anytime via text, email or phone with any concerns or questions.

TIPS:

Pack lightly
Be fluid and flexible - all outdoor adventures are subject to weather conditions beyond our control i.e. weather, road and trail conditions.
Be observant.
Be a contributor. Those who are the happiest and most pleasant to be around are those who make an effort to get to know others and help others if needed, in a variety of ways, whether they’re on a hiking trail or in a kitchen. Kindness is a very attractive quality in people!
Embrace the variety that is offered on each trip! There may be a constant transition to new places and different activities but it’s all good! Whether it’s meals or activities, we thrive on variety!

SHARING PHOTOS AT THE END OF THE TRIP:

You’ll receive an invitation to open a shared folder on Google Drive. Once inside, each client will find a folder with their name on it. Upload your photos in your folder. You also have access to each others photos.
