DISCLAIMER ON ITINERARY:
The above itinerary is a sample of how to get the most from our trip. You are not required to participate in every activity, every day. At any time, you are invited to slow down and enjoy a pace that feels good to you.
MEALS & FOOD:
Take the opportunity to learn and practice valuable cooking skills in other cultures in the world!
Food has always brought people together. We work together to not only feed everyone delicious food but create a social activity. Tapping into talents, knowledge and experience of people is an enriching experience. Regardless of where I travel in the world, a tradition of mine is to find local food and then create delicious meals for our guests. It’s more than fun, it's a valuable self reliance skill to learn and practice often.
In my “Feed a Family” course I taught for several years, the curriculum focused on preparing delicious, easy, healthy, hearty meals in just minutes using our kitchen, where ever that may be. As I travel, our accommodations will always include a well-equipped kitchen. Opportunities to cook for and feed people in Switzerland, Denmark, Iceland, Caribbean, Hawaii, Italy, and many locations in the US along with creating meals in primitive camping settings and Dutch Oven Cooking have all been rewarding and memorable. I quickly observe and assess local resources and products available. Sometimes I ask for help from local chefs or a kind mother in a grocery store. Our guests also continue to give me new ideas. Dining out is also fun, which we'll do on the first and last night of our trip.
A casual, communal dining style on most evenings

ACTIVITY LEVEL is rated: EASY to MODERATE
Moderate IF you plan to participate in all that we have planned.
Easier options are available by riding more trams, funiculars, chair lifts, buses, trains, etc.
What makes this a MODERATE Level:
Those who participate in at least 80% of the planned activities will be walking a minimum of 5 miles/day.
Even with lots of transportation options there are still stairs and walking involved.
E-biking is included in the cost, however you are not required to ride a bike if you choose not to.
If you love exploring the outdoors and want to get your "mountain fix" this trip will be just what you need!
Hikers are invited to stop, rest occasionally and take photos.
Walking up and down some stairs is a daily activity for everyone.
Those who plan to hike a lot should be comfortable with 4 - 10 miles/day, hiking 4 - 8 hours a day, with a minimum of 1000 ft accumulative elevation gain, hiking approx. 2 - 3 miles/hour depending on the elevation gain or loss.
A light back pack will be sufficient each day.
FOR EASIER OPTIONS:
If you are unable to hike/walk a lot or want to take it easy, you may choose to stay closer to the city of Locarno, enjoy shopping or relaxing near Lake Lugano or Lake Maggiore. You may travel by bus, train, or boat more often than those who are hiking.
If you have any questions about your physical abilities, please contact me in advance.

Be a contributor. We’ve discovered clients who are the happiest and most pleasant to be around are those who make an effort to get to know others and help others if needed, in a variety of ways, whether they’re on a hiking trail or in the kitchen. It’s a very attractive quality to discover in someone!
Be one who loves variety! There may be a constant transition to new places and different activities but it’s all good! Whether it’s transportation, meals, or activities, we thrive on variety!
SHARING PHOTOS AT THE END OF THE TRIP:
You’ll receive an invitation to open a shared folder on Google Drive. Once inside, each client will find a folder with their name on it. Upload your photos in your folder. You also have access to each others photos.
